Ellie appreciates the squeeze. It's something they've grown into over the past year and a half or so. It's been a long time since she stopped being jumpy, and now it feels like his steady hand helps her keep it together.
Slowly nodding, she puts her back to the flames, the only light in the area, squaring her shoulders.
"Okay."
They can't stop here, not so close, but Joel's head isn't looking so good, and there's a chance he might have a concussion. Ellie herself isn't sure how her hurts are. Her stomach still stings sharply, but both it and her shoulder have stopped bleeding.
"You feel dizzy or sick?" she asks. She's noticed that he's a touch more unsteady than normal. Was it the alcohol, or the injury?
